is a farmer. He was born in Ofoten at Gaarden Forra on April 18, 1857 and emigrated to America in 1882 to Grand Forks, North Dakota. He took preemption and a Treeclaim in Nelson County in 1884, and has later also took a homestead and lives on the farm.

His wife, Anne Ofte, was born in Wisconsin. Her parents was from Telemarken. He has been to Norway two times, in 1904 and 1914. The last time his wife was with and they visited their relatives in both Telemarken and Nordland. He is A trustee in the Sons of Norway regional society "Luren" and is a public spirited and beloved Norwegian.
