Thomas Brekke

emigrated to America in 1873 to Allamakee County, Iowa. He moved to Adams, Mower County, Minnesota and was there for eight years. He came to Steele County, Minnesota and was there for eight years. He came to Steele County, North Dakota and took a homestead in Franklin Township in 1884. He now lives in Aneta, North Dakota where he has a fine home.

His wife, Johanne Dahl, is from Nitedalen. They have seven children, two sons and five daughters. The oldest son, Anton, is in Nebraska, the youngest son, Helmer, graduated from high school in Aneta, North Dakota. Three of the daughters are married and live in Aneta, North Dakota. Clara is married to Nils A. Kloster, a farmer. Martine is married to David Miller, a farmer. Hilda is married to Arne Lukassen, a businessman in Aneta, North Dakota. Gurine is married to Oscar F. Andersen, Register of Deeds, and lives in Devils Lake, North Dakota. Julia works for the First National Bank in Hatton, North Dakota. Thomas A. Brekke was chairman of the township board for Sharon Township for 13 years. He is a director at Augsburg Seminar.
