Gunder Frigaard

Cooperstown, North Dakota

was born in Stjordalen the on July 24, 1864 and emigrated to America in June 1866 to Goodhue County Minnesota along with his parents Kristoffer Frigaard and Marit Lien. They purchased a farm and lived there until their deaths. His father died in 1898 and his mother died in 1876. Frigaard came to Cooperstown, North Dakota in 1903. He first worked in the machinery business and now has been the County clerk in Griggs County since 1907.

His wife, Marie Wigsnes, was born in America of Norwegian parents. They have twelve children.
