Portland, North Dakota

His wife, Sofie Vipstad, is from Stjordalen. They have six children. Their oldest son Bernhard is on the farm. Severin has land in Montana. Their daughter Emma is married to Ole R. Koppang, who is an elevator worker in Roseville, North Dakota.
