is a farmer. He is from Smaalenene. He was born in Rakkestad on March 21, 1862 and emigrated to America in 1873 to Grand Forks, North Dakota and took a homestead in Field Township, Nelson County. He lives on the farm at this time and has proved up three quarters.

His wife, Julia Rorvik, is dead and was from Ofoten, Nordland. Her parents live three miles from McVille. They have six children. One grown son is home on the farm. One daughter goes to Oak Grove Ladys Seminar and takes Musical Education in Fargo.
