U. A. Huss

Fargo, North Dakota

was born in Froien on July 24, 1876 and emigrated to America in 1893 to Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He went to English School, then to Northwestern College, then began work at a furniture fabric business, Fergus Falls Manufacturing Company, and was there for 14 years. He was later the manager of the Scandia Sash & Door factory for four years. He came to Fargo in 1914 and has since been the manager of the Dakota Sash & Door Company where he is a partner and joint owner.

His ancestry is from famous German Reformer Johan Huss. His grandfather came as a Priest to Trondelagen. His father was a peasant proprietor in Froien and died several years ago. His mother, Ingeborg Petersen Huss, lives over there.

He married Anne Christine Baglo in 1897. She was born in America of Norwegian parents from Vaerdalen. Her father is dead and her mother lives in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. They have six children.

Since he came to Fargo, North Dakota he has built himself a fine, comfortable house. He is an assistant Sunday School superintendent in the United Church and is a very interesting Norwegian and a capable businessman.
