Jacob Johnsen

Kloten, North Dakota

is a farmer and hotel owner. He is from Ringerike. He was born on March 23, 1865 and emigrated to America in 1880. His father was Johannes Smedshammer and his mother was Randi Ørbakken. They came to Meeker County, Minnesota and moved later to Roseau County, where his mother still lives at this time. He lived there for 17 years. He came to Nelson County nine years ago.

His wife, Gustava Jacobsen, is from Drammen. She was born in March 1869 and came to America in 1872. They have ten children and are the grandparents of five children.

The oldest son, Julius Johnsen, is home on the farm. They are nice and pleasant people to visit with.
