Hastings, North Dakota
is a saddle maker. He is the brother of Karl Kjelland in Litchville. He was born in Sogndal in Dalerne, on March 21, 1843. He has been in America for 25 years and has been in Hastings for 15 years. He is a subdued old man, as diligent and industrious as an ant with the old loyal Norwegian spirit, which is seen lit up with a warm smile when he hears stories about the "old Country", which despite everything can never be forgetten.
