Christ Knudsen

Portland, North Dakota

is from Modum. He was born in Snarums Parish district on October 26, 1857 and emigrated to America 1880 to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He moved to Portland in 1883 and has lived there since. He was a shoemaker for a time and is now is beginning again after a 20 year furlough. He has had the flour business for the last twelve years.

His wife, Elise K. Ulland, was from Faaberg in Gudbrandsdalen. She died in 1905.

His son, Karl E. Knudsen, lives in Portland as a Painter. His wife, Effy Larsen, was born in America of Norwegian parents from Hallingdal. They are both dead. They had a farm near Roseville, North Dakota.
