S. C. Koppang

Mayville, North Dakota

was born near Mayville on August 2, 1885. His father, Ole Kristensen Koppang, emigrated to America in 1869 and went to Stillwater, Minnesota. He died 1915. Ole’s Wife, Gurine Treseng, was from Stai, Ă˜sterdalen. She lives on a farm six miles from Mayville, North Dakota.

His wife, Ida Chelstad, was born in America of Norwegian parents from Portland, North Dakota. S. C. Koppang is the manager of the Mayville Motor Company and has been in the automobile business for nine years. It is in this large business, that you can find a clever mechanic and Sondmoring in Karl Westre as he is Koppang’s "Faithful Supporter" and first machinist. No wonder that it is the area’s largest business of this type.
