John M. Lee

Aneta, North Dakota

is a farmer. He was born in Borsen on March 15, 1858 and emigrated to America in 1880 to Michigan. He moved to Fargo, North Dakota took preemption in 1882 in Nelson County North Dakota in Nora Township and has since lived there as a farmer.

His wife, Bertha Jacobsen, is from Sogu. They have six children. Three grown sons: Mynart, Selmer and Louis are on the farm. Two daughters, Julie and Selma, are home. Mary is married to Oscar Kittelsen in Aneta, North Dakota.

Lee is the oldest settler in Nora Township, has been the sheriff in Nelson County for ten years and been on the school board in Nora Township in many years.
