is from Sandsvaer. He was born near Kongsberg on May 15, 1855 and emigrated to America in 1870 to New Richland, Minnesota. He moved to Fillmore County and came to Traill County in 1878 and took a homestead in Mayville Township and is at this time the owner of the homestead farm.
His wife, Nette Monsen, was born in America of Norwegian parents in Fillmore County. They were from Ringsaker. They have six children, five sons and 1 daughter. One of his sons is County Auditor Nels Lindaas in Hillsboro, North Dakota. One son is a dentist in Chicago, Illinois. The other sons are on the farm.
