Erik J. Ohnstad

Portland, North Dakota

was born in Koshkonong, Wisconsin on November 7, 1867. His father, Johannes Ohnstad, came to America in 1851. His mother, Anna Lie, was from Omland in Sogn and emigrated to America in 1848. He graduated from Wisconsin University. He talks like a native Sogninger and is very interested in the Sogna regional society and other regional societies and all Norwegian work.

His wife, Anne Olava Kittelsby, is the daughter of Peter L. Kittelsby, Calmar, Iowa. They have three children.

Prof. Ohnstad will with the school year ending in 1916 separate from his position as a manager of Brufladt Academy and become a farmer.
