Johan Sollid

Buxton, North Dakota

was born in Sollid in Waxvik region on May 11, 1871 and emigrated to America in 1888 to Mayville, North Dakota and worked there in Stroget for several years as a farmworker. He purchased a farm in Morgan Township near Buxton, North Dakota in 1898. He is a partner with his brother Iver Sollid. His land in Canada he exchanged in a juggle and has since had the Hotel McLillan in Grand Forks, where he presumably will live in the winter. In order to become cured of the gout he has visited several spas and traveled much. When we presumably presumably write next year a book for the Sondmore regional societys, we should see something more from him about the Sollid family and emigrant history.
