Pastor Jacob Tanner

was born in Bolso, Romsdalen on October 15, 1865. His parents names were Joh. Tanner and Anne Andersen. He attended Melde Latin School from 1876 to 1880 (A. B.). and Kristiania University from 1885 to 1887 and from 1888 to 1893, (A. M. C. T.).

He came to America in 1893. He was a priest in Story City, Iowa from 1893 to 1898, Gunder, Iowa from 1898 to 1903 and Brooklyn, New York from 1903 to 1907. He was the financial agent for Fairview Hospital, Minnesota from 1907 to 1909. He was a priest at Westby, Wisconsin in 1909, at Federal, Alta from 1910 to 1913, and at Milnor, North Dakota from 1913 to 16.

He has been a professor at Concordia College and has been a teacher in Norwegian and Religion since September of 1916. He was chairman of the Zion’s Association for Israel from 1902 to 1908. He is Romsdal District chairman.
