Halvor Waa

McVille, North Dakota

is a farmer. He was born in Rauland on September 2, 1862 and emigrated to America in 1871 along with his mother, Aasne Halvorsdatter Waa, and his brother, Asmund Waa, to Dakota County, Minnesota. His father, Aslak Sandersen Waa, died in Norway in 1860. The lived there for six years. Then they moved to Norway, North Dakota and were there for six years and thenthey came to Nelson County, North Dakota in 1882. His mother took a homestead 2 1/2 miles from Harwood, North Dakota. He purchased a farm in Nesheim Township. He has lived in McVille, North Dakota for the last five years.
