Ole Alfsen

Binford, North Dakota

is a farmer. He was born in Vinje on May 5, 1850 at Gaarden Berunuten, two Norwegian miles from the nearest neighbor. He came to America in 1868 on the sailing ship "America" to Quebec. He came to Dakota County, Minnesota and lived there until 1881. He came to Griggs County, North Dakota took a homestead and preemption and has lived there since as a farmer.

His wife, Kari Osmundsen, is also from Vinje. She emigrated as a six years old girl with her father to Red Wing, Minnesota in 1861. They have five children. Ingeborg is married to Louis Berg of Cooperstown, North Dakota. Albert is with the Hammer & Thingelstad Company in Binford, North Dakota. Henry is on the farm and is married to Clara Johnsen. Alfred is in Binford, North Dakota and has been at the Agricultural College, Fargo, North Dakota and at Gale College in Galesville, Wisconsin. Mildred is at home. Ruth is at the telephone company in Binford, North Dakota.

Alfsen has been a supervisor and on the school board in his town.
