Moorhead, Minnesota.
was born in Fyrisdal on March 31, 1846 and emigrated to America in 1868 to Houston, Minnesota. He came to the Red River Valley in 1871 to Buffalo River. He took preemption, sold it for fifty dollars and returned to Houston and was there for three years. He returned to Norway in 1875, came back here in 1876 to Houston County and married Gro Torjesdatter Eken, the daughter of Halvor T. Eken. He moved to the Red River Valley in 1877 and purchased one half section of land near the Buffalo River. In 1896 he was with his wife and daughter in Norway on a trip and saw Telemarken and old sites. He has now lived in Moorhead for four years and has built himself a good home near Concordia College.
