Hastings, North Dakota
was born in Isfjorden on February 1, 1876 and emigrated to America in 1882 along with his father, Jorgen Dahle, and his mother, Elisabeth Brekken, from Eidsvaagen. She is dead but his father lives on a farm in Clark County, South Dakota. He came to Hastings in 1905 and started the general store and machinery business in Partnership with C. T. Petterson, who was born of Norwegian parents in southern Minnesota. His father, Andreas Petterson, and his mother, Gunhild, are from Modum.
