Pekin, North Dakota
has the general store. He was born on August 30, 1868 in Fillmore County Minnesota. His father, Johan Elsaas, and his mother, Lena Smestua, were from Aamodt. He came to Nelson County in 1881 and was there for five years with his father at the Basfore Lake farm. He took a homestead in Walsh County and then started a business in Manfred, North Dakota in 1902. He moved to Pekin, North Dakota in 1906 where he has a large business and one of the most prestigious businesses in that area.
His wife, Julie Elsaas, is from Saetersdalen. They have four children.
