Hastings, North Dakota
is the town’s hotel host and is friendly to all good Norwegians that come to Hastings. He also has a grocery store. He is from Smaalenene. He was born in Thune close to Sarpsborg on October 9, 1863. He came to Fargo in 1880 and was farmer near Warren for 25 years. He has lived in Hastings since 1905.
His wife, Kristine Saarstad, is from Kongsberg. They have six children, three sons and three daughters. One of the sons is in business.
Graalum was an old “Fram” man, a teetotaler, a public spirited man and an extra pleasant fellow.
