Portland, North Dakota
is a farmer. He was born in Aasen on June 24, 1857 and emigrated to America in 1879 to Menonomie, Wisconsin. He lived there for nine years. He came to Traill County, North Dakota in 1888. He purchased a farm in Roseville Township near Portland, North Dakota and has lived there since as a farmer.
His wife, Julia Sando, was born in America of Norwegian parents. Her father, Nils Sando, was from Trondelagen and her mother, Martha Koppang, was from Ă˜sterdalen. They have one son Bertran.
Grinde was on a trip to Norway in 1889.
