was born in Red Wing, Minnesota. Her father, Gudarand S. Grondahl, was from Eidsvold and her mother, Lavina Petersen, was from Vermland in Sweden. She graduated from Red Wing High School and Minnesota University in 1911. She was a teacher at the High School in Starbuck, Minnesota from 1911 to 1912. She has been with Oak Grove Seminar since 1913.
