Jens Hagen

is one of the pioneers of Richland County, North Dakota and is the ancestor to a large Family there. He is a farmer. He was born on June 24, 1828 in Soknedalen and emigrated to America in 1869 to and went to Menonomie, Wisconsin. He went to the Red River Valley in 1872 and took a homestead near Fort Abercrombie, North Dakota and lived on this farm until his death in 1915.

They had seven children, four sons and three daughters. Two of his sons are farmers in Richland County, North Dakota. Clemens has the homestead farm, where his first house still stands. John has a large Farm near Abercrombie, North Dakota. He has worked as a professor at Concordia College and acquired much knowledge for himself with his studies during his stay at winters at the University of Chicago in 1911 and other places.
