Kindred, North Dakota
is a professor and school manager in Kindred, North Dakota. He has been at it since 1911. He was born on January 22, 1880 in Walcott Township, Richland County North Dakota. His father, Peder Hertsgaard, was one of the pioneers in Richland County, North Dakota. He died in 1908. His mother, Margit Hertsgaard, lives on a farm near Kindred, North Dakota.
He is married to Cecilie Engen, who was born in Menonomie County, Wisconsin of Norwegian parents. Her father, Ole Engen, who is dead, was from Storen. Her mother, Kjersti Grinden, is alive, and she is also from Storen. They have five children: Palmer, Oscar, Harald, Marcus, Margrethe.
Hertsgaard was a professor at Concordia College for seven years, before that he was the School manager in Kindred, North Dakota. He was nominated by the Republican Party in the primary election in 1916 as a candidate for Probate Judge in Richland County North Dakota.
