Guttorm B. Jacobsen

Buxton, North Dakota

is one of the pioneers in the Buxton area. He was born in Hjelmeland on July 2, 1872 and emigrated to America in 1872 to Ocean, Iowa, where he lived for six years. He came to Traill County in 1878 and took a homestead in Stavanger Township, where he was one of the three first three settlers. He is at this time the owner of a homestead farm, which is now operated by two of his sons, Arthur Jacobsen and Melvin Jacobsen. He has four daughters, Josefine, Clara, Nora and Olga. The last few years he has lived in Buxton, North Dakota where he has a good home.
