He has been in the watchmaker and jewelry business in Fargo, North Dakota, first with the Martingen & Kvaale Company since 1908 and then with the J. O. Kvaale & Company at Broadway 3193 since 1913. It has a fine location and a good assortment of jewelry.
His wife, Pauline Udler, is also from Trondhjem. They have four children, one daughter and three sons.
Kvaale is a very interesting Norwegian. He is a member of the Sons of Norway regional society "Kringen" in Fargo, North Dakota. His parents live in Tröndhjem.
