Parshal, North Dakota
is of from Hallingaet. He was born in Yellow Medicine County Minnesota on April 11, 1882. His father, Knut Lokensgard, works at the Normal School in Madison, Minnesota. His mother, Tinna Huss, was born in Hallingdal. Her parents live near Hatton, North Dakota.
Having gone to the Madison Normal School in 1900, he graduated from Valparaiso University in 1903. He was with the English weekly paper in Madison, Minnesota in seven and a half years. He was a clerk in the Minnesota Senate in 1911. He came to Fargo in 1911 and had the printing office there for five years.
He married Edna Heiby from Reviere, Minnesota in 1905. They have three children.
Lokensgard is very interested in Song. He is a member of the "Orpheus" Singing society and was the leader of the inging choir at the United Church in Fargo, North Dakota. He has often sung solo at festive occasions in Fargo, such as the regional society meetings and festive reunions at the Norwegian Associations and he has received much praise for his Sangpraestationer. In Parshall, North Dakota where he moved to in 1916, he has the furniture business and funeral parlor.
