Pekin, North Dakota
was born in Aamodt on August 1, 1873. His father, Ole Sletten, and his mother, Oleana Tollefsen, emigrated from Aamodt and took a homestead in Griggs County in 1883. Otto was on the homestead for 21 years and then he moved west and took a homestead in Wells County, North Dakota and was there for 4 or 5 years. He was together with Elsaas in a store business in Manfred, North Dakota for four years. He came to Pekin in 1906 and has lived there as an elevator manager for the last six years. He has been an alderman for two years and was elected another time as assessor in 1916. He is the financial secretary of the Sons of Norway regional society "Luren", which is one of the biggest regional societys in North Dakota.
Otto Sletten;s Wife, Marit Bakken, is from Lesjeskogen in Gudbrandsdalen and emigrated to America in 1903. She married Otto Sletten in 1907, They have four dear children, Mildred, Orvil, Thelma and Harald.
