Fargo, North Dakota
was born in Os on January 22, 1887 and emigrated to America in 1888 to Lake Park, Minnesota along with his father, Paul Smebak, and his mother, Mathea Berg. They purchased a farm and live there at this time. He came to Fargo, North Dakota in 1909 and worked at a Ten Cent store for four years and has since operated a tailorshop.
He is involved as a member of Østerdalslaget and has been with the committee for the arrangement of regional society Meetings in Fargo two times. He is a member of the "Orpheus" singing society and is a good Norwegian and participates with great interest in the Norwegian meetings and reunions.
