Finley, North Dakota
was born in Sarpsborg 1865. He was only six years old when he came to America. His parents, Johannes and Else Strandnes, emigrated to Wisconsin in 1871. His father was a school teacher in Norway and and held Norwegian School over there until his death in 1905.
His wife, Emma Olsen, was born in America of Norwegian parents. Her mother, Ellen Olsen, lives with them. He has lived in Finley, North Dakota since 1905. He sold his business in 1915 and now operates a land business. He is Financial secretary in the Sons of Norway regional society, "Norman" and is a very interesting Norwegian man.
