Kindred, North Dakota
is a farmer. He was born in Hemsedal on June 3, 1853 and emigrated to America in 1874 to Kenyon, Minnesota and came to Dakota Territory in 1875. He took a homestead in Norman, near Kindred and has lived there since as a Farmer. In 1882 he married Ingeborg Bruhjord from Aal. She came to Valders as a one year old and is thus both a Halling and Valdres girl. They have six children, two sons and four daughters: Endre, Oscar, Ida, Anna, Mabel and Selma. Sven Ulsaker has, as a farmer in the Norman Settlement, taken an active part in the upbuilding of the district, where he has had numerous positions of trust in both church and township affairs. In 1890 he was elected to the Legislature as a Representative of the 10th District. He is one of district’s most capable and most reputable Man.
