Blackwell, Drummer Boy of Civil War Days, Dead

Charles E. Blackwell, 1108 Douglas Avenue, who went into the Union army when 14 years old as a drummer boy, died at his home today.  He was 71 years old, and was a member of Zion commandery and the Loyal Legion of the United States.  Mr. Blackwell was a resident of North Dakota for many years, where he was engaged in the lumber business.  Before going to North Dkota he lived in Minneapolis and returned to this city about a year ago.  He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
