Briggs Gets National Award
Ward D. Briggs, president of Crane-Johnson company, Fargo has been awarded the Master Merchant certificate by te American Lumberman magazine Chicago. The award is made to outstanding building materials dealers throughout the country selected by the editors of the national trade magazine.
Mr. Briggs, a former president of Northwestern Lumbermen's Association received the award from Arthur A. Hood, editor of American Lumberman, at the recent Northwestern convention in Minneapolis. The certificate cites Mr. Briggs for "intelligent management, pregressive merchandisingand conscientious service to his consumers and community."
Crane Johnson Company and its president were featured in a three-page article in a January issue of the magazine. The cover pictures the exterior of the West Fargo Lumber and Supply companwy with an insert of Mr. Briggs. He is the only retail building materials dealer thus far in North Dakota and South Dakota to receive the Master Merchant award.
